- <p> DIED. Sylvia Fine Kaye, 78, songwriter and widow of the
- entertainer Danny Kaye, for whom she created his most famous
- stage and film material; of emphysema; in New York City. Kaye
- wrote the music and lyrics for many of her husband's films
- including The Kid from Brooklyn (1946), The Secret Life of
- Walter Mitty (1947), The Inspector General (1949) and The Court
- Jester (1956). Among her best-known compositions was the
- "Tchaikovsky number" from Lady in the Dark, in which Danny raced
- rhythmically through the names of 51 Russian composers.
